Richard Glossip is scheduled to be executed on September 16, 2015 for the 1997 murder for hire death of Barry Van Treese. A team of lawyers – Don Knight, Kathleen Lord and Mark Olive – has volunteered to work on behalf of Richard Glossip because he has always maintained his innocence and the evidence against him is paper thin. These attorneys are attempting to uncover evidence that will exonerate Richard Glossip, as no one wants an innocent man to be executed.
Knight, speaking at a press conference hosted by the Oklahoma Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (OK-CADP) on July 13, 2015, lays out details of the case and what this new investigation has uncovered thus far. He emphasizes the need for help from the public and asks anyone with information to come forward and speak the truth to prevent another tragedy from occurring.
