Richard Glossip “Don’t Kill For Me” Protest & Vigil – CANCELLED

Update: Due to a stay from the Supreme Court, this event has been cancelled.

Barring an act of mercy by Gov. Mary Fallin, Richard Eugene Glossip will be executed by lethal injection at 6 pm, on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.

The public is invited to join the members of OK-CADP as they stand in front of the Governor’s mansion, 820 NE 23 St., on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at 5:15 pm during the Richard Glossip “Don’t Kill for Me” protest demonstration, which will transition into a silent vigil at the appointed hour of 6 pm until a stay in announced or death is pronounced.

At 5 p.m. a second vigil will take place outside the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester.

NOTE:  After the botched execution of Oklahoma death row inmate Clayton Lockett, Gov. Mary Fallin called for a six month moratorium on all executions.  Richard Glossip’s attorneys as well as the members of the  OK Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty feel no Oklahoma executions should proceed until the lethal injection process is deemed to be not “cruel and unusual” punishment.  In fact, we feel the death penalty should be abolished.

Glossip has maintained his innocence since 1997 when the crime was committed.  Join us by urging Gov. Mary Fallin to call for a 60-day reprieve for Richard Glossip now in order for his attorneys to represent facts that will prove his innocence.
